New Dining Concepts Arrive at Kruger National Park
SANParks has appointed new restaurant operators across several Kruger National Park camps to refresh the visitor dining experience.
A Fresh Culinary Chapter for Kruger
South African National Parks (SANParks) has officially announced the appointment of new restaurant operators at several key camps within the Kruger National Park. This move follows a competitive tender process initiated after the expiration of previous concession agreements, aiming to elevate the quality and variety of food services available to park visitors.
What Visitors Can Expect
The transition will introduce distinct dining concepts designed to enhance the atmosphere at popular rest camps. Notable changes include:
- Lower Sabie: The former Mugg & Bean will be replaced by the new Sabie River Café.
- Pretoriuskop: The Wimpy will transition into Le Lapeng Burgers and Grill.
- Berg-en-Dal: Tindlovu Restaurant will be rebranded as Eziko Eatery.
- Skukuza: The iconic Cattle Baron is set for a comprehensive refurbishment to provide a modernised look and feel.
Maintaining Service During Upgrades
SANParks has confirmed that while these refurbishments take place, temporary dining facilities with limited menus will remain operational to ensure visitors are not left without options. The organisation has expressed its commitment to minimising inconvenience during this transition period. These upgrades represent a significant investment in the park's infrastructure, supporting both job creation and the broader economic growth of the region as the park approaches its centenary year.
